Department of Infectious Diseases and Epizootiology with Veterinary Sanitation

The Department was established in 1877.

The Department of epizootiology does the research work in two directions:

  • development and improvement of the means and methods of diagnosis, prevention, treatment and evidence-based responses to tuberculosis of animals;
  • development and improvement of the means and methods of diagnosis, prevention, treatment and research-based Chlamydia control measures in animals.

The 4th and 5th-year full-time and part-time students are being taught the following subjects: "Epizootiology and infectious diseases of animals with the veterinary sanitation". The teachers of the Department involved in training the students of following specialties: "Biology and pathology of birds", "Biology and Pathology of Fish," "Diseases of young farm animals", "Pathology of small animals."

The Department staff became the authors of 1 textbook ("Infectious Animal Diseases in" was released by the publishing house "Colossus" in 2007), and a practical course "Multimedia course of lectures on General Epizootiology and Veterinary Sanitation", 6 monographs, over 300 articles and abstracts more than 40 teaching publications, 5 existing training programs.
